POLL OF THE WEEK: How do you rate your employers own health insurance benefits?
Wow, out of 18 people that responded- 50% said the health insurance they are offered by their employers was poor/below average!- I guess we have a long way to go with the insurance aspect of what employers offer for benefits.

What is a Case Manager anyway?
Care managers are advocates who help patients understand their current health status, what they can do about it and why those treatments are important. In this way, care managers are catalysts by guiding patients and providing cohesion to other professionals in the health care delivery team, enabling their clients to achieve goals more effectively and efficiently.

Case Managers need progressive mediums to share ideas, comment about obstacles they are having in their day to day professional activities and to have new resources to obtain information to help do their jobs better and thus provide the patient or insurance member with better overall care. To that end, I decided to start and moderate this blog. Case Managers are always seeking to increase their knowledge and become more efficient! In addition to an active membership in CMSA and my local Chapter, this is my way of doing my part to promote the profession and advocate better healthcare for all!
